How Does TOPS Work?

9 Core Sessions

You’ll complete these core sessions in order and learn about solving problems, controlling your emotions, staying organized, taking care of yourself and more! 

11 Supplemental Sessions

These optional sessions cover special topics like seizures, pain management and sleep. There are also supplemental sessions for parents and siblings!

The Problem Solving App

You’ll use the Problem Solving App on the TOPS website to track your problem-solving progress.

Evidence-based guidelines based on a systematic review of the research literature identified TOPS as a standard of care for executive functioning and behavioral challenges after acquired brain injuries.

 

Five rigorous, controlled trials and a comparative effectiveness study involving hundreds of children support the effectiveness of TOPS for improving behavioral health.

TOPS grows out of three decades of talking with teens and families about their biggest concerns and partnering with them to ensure our program meets their needs.
